Blogging: Building Viral Connections with Your Audience Guest Marc Ensign

Listen to the podcast here:

Blogging  is Your Chance to Use Your Super Writing Powers For Good

Marc Ensign was the guest this week on The Writing Biz. I truly enjoyed our conversation. While you may think that we strayed from the topic of blogging, I don’t believe we did. I hope that what you get out of this episode is a sense of how important your blogging experience can be to your audience.
Your blog is your chance to communicate on a real level with others and you can choose to use that power in many different ways. You can educate, inspire and start conversations!. But the kryptonite that will destroy your bloggin powers is- selfishness. If you approach blogging as a platform to hold a conversation with your readers you will see much more success than if you use it to scream, “Buy Something From Me!”.
Marc is on a quest to “Save the Internet” and he is doing this by making a difference.

“Rather than just “collecting friends” or “collecting followers,” what if we were to spend a little more time starting conversations and creating relationships? Be the first to start the conversation instead of waiting for someone else.- Marc Ensign”

Marc’s Cool Stuff:

bloggingMarc Ensign has a book coming out in December that I think is a must-have. Be a Dick, a story that will inspire you to be a better person.
Also on his website, you can download a FREE copy of Unbreakable. I read Unbreakable the other night when I couldn’t sleep and I loved it. I think you will. too. It reminded me of times in my life that I have been unbreakable and made me realize that I need to bring more of that attitude into the now.
Read Marc’s blog post, From Now On I Am Going To Be A Dick To Everyone I Meet Online , that started him on the journey to Be a Dick.

Resources mentioned in the show:

    Hi Laura,

Thanks for the shout out. I’m truly honored. Love the show!
I’m also pleased to see that you had @marcensign on your show. He’s a cool dude who knows a thing or two about blogging and writing and he’s a good friend.

Les- I couldn’t agree more. What I love about Marc’s writing is his honesty. He says it like it is and that makes his messages more powerful. As you said, “he is one cool dude.”
