If you’re passionate about helping writers build stronger, more sustainable careers, I’d love to talk with you.
One of the most exciting parts of launching The Writing Biz Podcast, launching in April 2026, is the opportunity to bring together smart, experienced voices from across the writing and publishing world. My goal with this show is simple: create real conversations about the business side of writing—the part many writers struggle to navigate alone.
Writing may begin as art, but building a long-term career requires strategy, systems, and practical insight. That’s exactly what The Writing Biz Podcast is here to explore.
And that’s where you come in.
What The Writing Biz Podcast Is About
The Writing Biz Podcast is designed for authors and freelance writers who want to move beyond guesswork and start building intentional writing businesses.
Each episode focuses on the practical side of creative careers—topics like publishing strategy, marketing systems, email list growth, monetization, audience building, and the mindset shifts required to sustain a long-term writing life.
This isn’t a show about writing prompts or abstract inspiration. It’s about real-world experience and practical knowledge.
I’m especially interested in conversations that help writers understand how the industry actually works and what they can do today to build stronger foundations for their careers.
Who Makes a Great Guest?
I’m always looking for thoughtful guests who bring useful insights and honest perspectives.
Great guests might include:
- Authors who have built successful indie or hybrid careers
- Publishing professionals and Self-Publishers
- Editors, marketers, and industry specialists
- Creators who help writers build platforms or businesses
- Entrepreneurs working within the creator economy
- Experts in email marketing, branding, or digital products
- Tools that can help run a writing business
If you have experience that could help writers better understand the publishing landscape—or if you’ve learned valuable lessons through your own creative journey—I’d love to hear about it.
The best conversations are the ones where listeners walk away thinking, “That actually helped me understand what to do next.”
What the Conversation Looks Like
Episodes are conversational and relaxed, but focused. Each is a 30 minute to 1 hour, audio only format.
We’ll talk about your work, your experiences in the writing or publishing world, and the lessons you’ve learned along the way. I’m particularly interested in practical insights—things writers can apply directly to their own careers.
You don’t need to prepare a formal presentation. The goal is simply to share knowledge, ideas, and experiences that can help other writers grow.
Think of it less like an interview and more like a thoughtful conversation with someone who cares deeply about the writing community.
Interested in Joining the Conversation?
If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, I invite you to submit a guest request.
I review every submission personally, and I’m always excited to discover new voices and perspectives that can add value to the show.
Building a sustainable writing career is easier when we share what we’ve learned along the way. The Writing Biz Podcast is meant to be one small part of that larger conversation.
